Elmwood Park Zoo extends our gratitude to our loyal Norristown residents by offering FREE admission to Norristown Borough residents on the first Sunday of each month beginning at 2 PM.
Residents of Norristown Borough who present valid photo I.D. may enter the zoo free of charge after 2 PM.

Every year, Linvilla’s Bakery presents the Delaware County’s largest Strawberry Shortcake... you’ve got to see it to believe it! Carrying on with tradition, their homemade Strawberry Shortcake will be presented at precisely 11 am.

The only Dragon Boat race in the United States run by active members of Team USA - 2007 and 2011 World Champions! Teams of 20 row colorful boats, bedecked with dragon heads and tails, in this no-experience-necessary regatta. A member of the U.S. National Dragon Boat Team steers each boat competing in the fun-filled event, which features pisions for women, men, co-ed, military, media and even Mummers.

The Garden Railway is now open! This year’s theme is "Great American Lighthouse" features replicas of iconic landmarks from east to west, and as far north as the Great Lakes. Visitors will enjoy the beauty of these unique structures, such as Cape Hatteras Light in North Carolina, both the New Cape Henry Light and Old Cape Henry Light in Virginia and Philadelphia’s own Turtle Rock Light located on Boathouse Row.

During the Civil War, cannon fire could be heard rumbling across the field as opposing armies marched toward each other in battle. Visit the Mills to see Confederates and Union forces as they clash on the battlefield each afternoon. Visit military and civilian encampments, tour the mansion and see special exhibits, join in the music & songs of the time, visit the Civilian Street for demonstrations, kids can participate in the Be a Soldier Kid Enlistment activity and much more.
